Shopping & ordering
What does Phoenix Crafted make?
Phoenix Crafted offers handmade candles, wax melts, tealights, votives, decorative candles, warmers and candle-care accessories, gift options, finished diamond paintings, and custom solid-wood frames. Availability changes as small batches and one-of-a-kind pieces sell.
Are your products handmade?
Candles, wax melts, tealights, votives, and many decorative pieces are made in small batches. Diamond artwork and custom frames are also finished by hand, so subtle variations are part of the handcrafted character.
How do I choose the right fragrance?
Use the Scent Quiz for guided recommendations or browse the Fragrance Guide by notes, mood, room, and fragrance family. You can also email Phoenix@Phoenix-Crafted.com.
Why do some items sell out or change?
Many products are made in limited runs, and vessel, fragrance, frame, or material availability can change. A restock may return in a slightly different vessel or finish when the original component is unavailable.
Can I change or cancel an order?
Email within 24 hours of purchase. Changes or cancellations are possible only before processing or shipment begins. Custom work cannot usually be changed after design approval or production starts.
What payment methods are accepted?
Available payment methods appear at checkout and can vary by device or location. Payment must clear before an order is produced or shipped.

Candles & ingredients
What wax blend do you use?
Container candles use Phoenix Crafted's coconut soy and beeswax blend, chosen for a creamy finish, balanced fragrance performance, and slow, steady burn. Read more on Why Coconut Soy & Beeswax.
What does each wax contribute?
Coconut wax supports a smooth finish and fragrance diffusion; soy adds structure and a steady burn; beeswax adds firmness and stability. The exact behavior still depends on vessel, wick, fragrance, room, and candle size.
Are the candles vegan?
No. The blend contains beeswax, an animal-derived ingredient. Wax melts or other products may use different formulas, so review the individual product listing when this matters to you.
Are the fragrance oils phthalate-free and paraben-free?
Phoenix Crafted describes its fragrance oils as 100% phthalate-free and paraben-free. Ingredient sensitivities vary, so discontinue use if irritation occurs and contact the shop before ordering when you have a specific concern.
What kind of wicks do you use?
Products may use lead-free cotton wicks or wooden wicks depending on the vessel and formula. Wooden wicks can create a subtle crackle and wider flame; cotton wicks generally offer a quiet, steady flame.
How long will a candle burn?
Burn time varies by vessel size, wick, fragrance, room conditions, and care. The product listing is the best estimate for a specific candle. Short, properly managed burn sessions usually provide the most consistent performance.
Why can natural wax look different from the photo?
Natural wax can show frosting, slight color shifts, wet spots, small surface changes, or texture after temperature swings. These cosmetic variations are normal and do not automatically indicate poor performance.
Do candles produce soot?
Any flame can create soot when the wick is too long, the candle sits in a draft, or debris enters the wax. Trim the wick, keep the candle away from moving air, and extinguish it if the flame becomes unusually tall or smoky.
Are decorative candles meant to be burned?
Some decorative candles are primarily sculptural, while others may be burned with extra precautions. Follow the specific listing and safety label. Always place sculptural candles on a large heat-resistant tray because wax may drip beyond the candle.
Are the candles non-toxic or air purifying?
Phoenix Crafted does not present candles as medical devices or air purifiers. Fragrance sensitivity is personal. Burn in a ventilated room, follow the safety label, and consult a qualified professional about individual health concerns.
07
Scent & performance
What are cold throw and hot throw?
Cold throw is the fragrance you smell when the wax is unlit. Hot throw is the fragrance released while the candle or melt is warmed. They may differ because heat changes how fragrance notes evaporate and travel.
Why does scent strength vary by room?
Room size, ceiling height, airflow, open doors, temperature, soft furnishings, and competing odors all affect fragrance. A smaller candle may be ideal in a bedroom but feel subtle in an open-plan space.
Why can I stop noticing a fragrance?
Your senses can temporarily adapt to a continuous aroma. Leave the room for several minutes, return later, or rotate fragrances rather than increasing burn time beyond safe limits.
Do you offer subtle and strong scents?
Yes. Some blends are soft and intimate; others are designed to fill a larger space. Read the scent description and notes, then use the Scent Quiz or contact Phoenix Crafted for help matching intensity to your room.
Can the same scent differ in a candle and wax melt?
Yes. Flame, warmer temperature, wax formula, surface area, and vessel size affect how notes unfold. The fragrance identity remains related, but one format may emphasize different notes or feel stronger.
What if I am sensitive to fragrance?
Start with a small format, use it briefly in a ventilated room, and stop if discomfort occurs. Ingredient disclosure cannot predict every sensitivity. Contact Phoenix Crafted before ordering with a specific concern.
Can you recreate a discontinued or personal fragrance?
A custom blend inspired by a fragrance family, memory, or note profile may be possible, but an exact duplicate cannot be guaranteed. Submit details through the custom-order page.

Candle care & safety
What should I do on the first burn?
Trim the wick, place the candle on a stable heat-resistant surface, and allow the melt pool to approach the vessel edges without exceeding the product's recommended maximum burn time. This helps reduce tunneling.
How short should I trim the wick?
Trim cotton wicks to about 1/4 inch before each burn. Wooden wicks generally perform best when kept shorter, around 1/8 to 3/16 inch, with loose char removed after the candle cools.
How long can I burn a candle at once?
Do not exceed four hours unless the product's safety label gives a shorter limit. Extinguish sooner if the flame is tall, the vessel becomes excessively hot, or the wick mushrooms, smokes, or shifts.
Why is my candle tunneling?
Tunneling often follows short first burns or repeated sessions that do not create a broad melt pool. Future burns may improve it. Do not scrape or heat the vessel with unapproved methods; contact Phoenix Crafted if performance remains poor.
What if the flame is high, flickering, or smoking?
Extinguish the candle, let it cool completely, trim the wick, remove debris, and relight away from drafts. Stop using it and contact Phoenix Crafted if the issue persists.
How should I extinguish a candle?
Use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame without splashing wax. A wick dipper may be used only when appropriate for the vessel. Never use water, and never place a lid over an active flame unless the lid is designed for extinguishing.
When should I stop using the candle?
Stop when about 1/2 inch of wax remains in a container candle, or sooner if the safety label directs. Continuing can overheat the base and surface beneath it.
Can I reuse the vessel?
After the candle is fully finished and cool, remove remaining wax and wick hardware without sharp-force methods that could crack the vessel. Clean gently. Reuse only for non-food purposes unless the vessel is specifically rated for food contact.

Wax melts, tealights & votives
How do I use wax melts?
Place a small amount in the dish of a wax warmer designed for melts. Follow the warmer manufacturer's instructions, keep the dish dry, and never add water or fragrance oil directly to the wax.
How much wax melt should I use?
Start with one or two cubes or a small molded piece, staying below the warmer dish's capacity. Add more only after evaluating fragrance strength and melted-wax volume.
When should I replace wax in the warmer?
Replace it when little fragrance remains after warming. Let it cool before removal and follow the warmer instructions. Never pour wax into drains.
Can I mix wax-melt scents?
Yes, provided the combined amount remains within the warmer's safe capacity. Start with small portions and record combinations you enjoy.
How do I use tealights and votives safely?
Use tealights in suitable holders and votives in close-fitting votive holders designed to contain liquefied wax. Keep all flames attended, separated from flammables, and out of reach of children and pets.
Do you sell warmers and candle-care tools?
Availability varies, but the store may carry warmers, holders, wick trimmers, snuffers, and other home-fragrance essentials. Check Warmers & Accessories.

Custom orders
What can I customize?
Depending on materials and safety testing, options may include vessel, fragrance direction, size, wax color, decorative details, label, packaging, wick style, quantity, occasion, diamond artwork, and a solid-wood frame.
How do I start a custom order?
Complete the custom-order request or email Phoenix@Phoenix-Crafted.com with your idea, quantity, desired date, budget, fragrance preferences, and inspiration images.
What happens after I submit a request?
Phoenix Crafted reviews feasibility, materials, timing, and safety needs, then follows up with questions, options, pricing, and an approval path. Production begins only after the required details and payment are complete.
How long do custom items take?
Custom and poured-to-order products typically require about 7–9 days before shipment, but complex candles, large quantities, artwork, and frames can take longer. Your quote or approval message provides the project-specific estimate.
How is custom pricing determined?
Pricing reflects materials, vessel or frame, size, fragrance development, testing, decorative work, packaging, labor, quantity, and deadline. A firm quote is provided after the scope is clear.
Can I change a custom order after approval?
Contact Phoenix Crafted immediately. Changes may increase price or extend timing and might not be possible after materials are ordered, labels are printed, wax is poured, or frame work begins.
Are custom orders returnable?
Custom, personalized, custom-scent, poured-to-order, and made-to-order items are final sale except for confirmed damage, defect, or an error by Phoenix Crafted.
Do you make favors, memorial candles, or corporate gifts?
Requests for weddings, showers, memorials, client gifts, employee gifts, events, and bulk gifting are welcome. Lead time, minimums, packaging, and proof deadlines depend on the project.

Diamond paintings & frames
What is a diamond painting?
Diamond painting is artwork created by placing small faceted resin pieces onto an adhesive printed canvas. The finished surface reflects light and has a textured, mosaic-like sparkle.
Are the diamond paintings finished or kits?
Read the individual listing carefully. Phoenix Crafted's art collection may feature completed handcrafted pieces rather than kits. The listing identifies what is included, the finished dimensions, and framing status.
Will finished artwork match the photo exactly?
Lighting, screen settings, faceted reflections, hand placement, and natural wood grain can change how colors and texture appear. Handmade artwork and frames may have subtle variations.
How should I care for diamond artwork?
Keep it dry and away from direct sunlight, high humidity, heat, and abrasion. Dust gently with a clean soft cloth or air blower. Do not use household cleaners on the faceted surface.
What makes your frames custom?
Solid-wood frames can be built around the artwork's dimensions and selected profile, wood, stain, or finish. Grain, knots, and tone are natural features rather than exact-repeat patterns.
How do I measure art for a frame?
Measure the finished artwork itself at several points, not only the printed package size. Record width and height to the nearest practical fraction and tell Phoenix Crafted whether you want the full border visible.
Do frames include glazing or hanging hardware?
Inclusions vary by design and must be confirmed in the quote or listing. Diamond artwork is often displayed without glazing to preserve sparkle, but project needs differ.
Can diamond paintings or custom frames be returned?
Custom solid-wood frames and made-to-order art are final sale except for confirmed damage, defect, or Phoenix Crafted error. Ready-made art follows the eligibility terms in the store's return policy.

Shipping, tracking & pickup
How quickly will my order ship?
In-stock items normally ship within 2 business days. Processing can take up to 3 business days during holidays, sales, or vendor events. Custom and poured-to-order items generally require 7–9 days unless a longer timeline is quoted.
Which carrier do you use?
Orders generally ship with USPS and include tracking when the service supports it. Carrier or service may change when needed for destination, size, or protection.
Do you offer free shipping?
Free U.S. shipping is available when the merchandise subtotal meets the current $50 threshold. Check checkout for the final qualification after discounts and exclusions.
How long does U.S. delivery take?
After shipment, U.S. transit usually takes about 2–5 business days. Carrier estimates are not guarantees and can be affected by weather, holidays, address problems, or regional delays.
Do you ship internationally?
International shipping may be available to supported destinations. Transit is generally 7–21 business days after shipment. The customer is responsible for duties, taxes, customs charges, and destination-country requirements.
How do I track my order?
Use the tracking link in your shipping confirmation. Tracking can take time to update after a label is created. Contact Phoenix Crafted if no carrier movement appears after a reasonable processing period.
Can I change my shipping address?
Request a correction within 24 hours. An address cannot be redirected after the package is packed or shipped. The customer is responsible for accurate checkout information.
What if tracking is stuck or the package is lost?
If tracking has not meaningfully moved for more than 14 days, contact Phoenix Crafted with your order number. The shop can open a USPS investigation and explain available next steps.
What if tracking says delivered but I cannot find it?
Check household members, neighbors, safe locations, and your local post office. Phoenix Crafted can help with a carrier claim, but a delivered scan does not automatically qualify for an immediate refund or replacement.
Is local pickup available?
Pickup in the Greensboro/Triad area or at select vendor events may be arranged. Confirm availability with Phoenix Crafted before ordering so the correct delivery method can be used.
