Shopping & Orders

How quickly will my order be prepared?

Are Phoenix Crafted products made in small batches?

Yes. Our home-fragrance products are hand-poured in small batches in North Carolina. Small-batch production supports closer quality checks and can create slight handcrafted variation.

Better burns

Candles & Candle Care

Why is the first burn important?

The first burn helps establish future melt-pool behavior. Let the candle develop a stable melt pool while remaining within the product-specific maximum session guidance. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Read the Complete Candle Care Guide →
How short should I trim the wick?

Follow the care instructions for the exact candle. Many cotton wicks use a trim near 1/4 inch, while wooden wicks generally require a shorter trim. Remove loose char or debris only after the candle has cooled and avoid overtrimming.

View candle-care instructions →
How long can I burn a candle at one time?

Follow the product-specific maximum session length on the label, product listing, or included care instructions. Extinguish the candle sooner if the flame becomes unstable, persistent smoke develops, the vessel becomes unusually hot, or the candle otherwise appears unsafe.

What is the difference between a wood wick and a cotton wick?

Wood wicks can provide a wider visual flame and subtle crackle, while cotton wicks generally offer a quieter traditional flame. They require different trimming and care, so follow the instructions for the exact candle.

Compare wood and cotton wicks →
When should I stop burning a container candle?

Follow the stop-use point provided for the exact vessel. Stop earlier if the vessel is cracked, chipped, leaking, unusually hot, or otherwise unsafe. Do not continue using a candle after its product-specific stop-use point has been reached.

How should I burn a decorative candle?

Place it on a stable, generously sized heat-safe tray. Sculptural wax can soften and create natural runoff. Remove loose decorative material near the flame and monitor it continuously. Follow the care instructions supplied with the exact design.

Flame-free fragrance

Wax Melts & Warmers

How many wax-melt cubes should I use?

Begin with a small amount and add more only when needed. Never exceed the wax capacity recommended by the warmer manufacturer, and use the exact product guidance when provided.

Learn how to use wax melts →
How long do Phoenix Crafted wax melts last?

Fragrance duration varies by fragrance, warmer temperature, room size, airflow, portion size, and personal perception. Use the estimate on the exact product page when one is provided, and replace the wax when it no longer releases a noticeable scent.

Review wax-melt details →
Can I add water or fragrance oil?

No. Use wax melts by themselves in an approved wax warmer. Adding water, fragrance oil, or other materials can create unsafe splattering, overflow, or overheating.

When should I replace the wax?

Replace it when it no longer gives the fragrance level you want. Wax can remain in the dish after the fragrance fades because a warmer releases fragrance without consuming wax like a flame does.

Can I mix two wax-melt fragrances?

Yes, provided the total amount stays within the warmer manufacturer’s capacity. Begin with small portions and use compatible fragrance families so the balance can be adjusted gradually.

What goes into the experience

Ingredients, care & claim clarity

What wax blend does Phoenix Crafted use?

Our standard candles use a coconut-soy and beeswax blend. Coconut wax supports fragrance performance and a creamy finish, soy contributes balance and body, and beeswax adds firmness and heat stability. Materials and formulation details can vary by product, so review the individual product page for the exact item you are considering.

Why Coconut Soy & Beeswax →
Are Phoenix Crafted candles non-toxic or chemical-free?

We do not describe our candles as non-toxic, toxin-free, or chemical-free. We do not hold independent emissions testing that would support an unqualified safety claim for people or the environment. Instead, we document the specific choices we make: a coconut-soy and beeswax blend, phthalate-free and paraben-free fragrance oils, no added synthetic dyes, and carefully matched cotton or wooden wicks.

Read our claim guide →
What does “clean burning” mean?

We use “clean burning” only to describe a well-managed candle system: a wick matched to the vessel and wax, a trimmed wick, an undisturbed flame, and an appropriate burn session. It is not a promise that a candle is soot-free, emission-free, or safe for every person, pet, or setting.

View candle-care guidance →
Are your candles soot-free?

No. No burning candle is soot-free. Visible smoke or residue can increase when a wick is too long or mushroomed, the flame is exposed to drafts, debris enters the melt pool, or a burn session runs too long. If persistent smoke develops, extinguish the candle, let it cool completely, follow the care directions for the exact product, and do not relight it until the issue is addressed.

Learn how to care for your candle →
Does the wax blend make your candles healthier to burn than paraffin?

We do not make a health comparison between our blend and paraffin candles. We chose coconut wax, soy wax, and beeswax for the performance, handling, and finished character we want in a Phoenix Crafted candle—not because we have evidence to make a health claim. Candle performance also depends on wick selection, fragrance, vessel, room conditions, and care.

Understand our claim boundaries →
Are your candles safe around pets, children, babies, or people with respiratory sensitivities?

No scented product can be described as universally safe for every animal or person. Use any open flame with appropriate precautions: keep it away from children, pets, drafts, and flammable materials; ventilate the space appropriately; never leave a burning candle unattended; and prevent ingestion or direct contact with hot wax. For an individual health, respiratory, or pet-sensitivity concern, ask the relevant qualified professional.

Read our safety-claim guidance →
Are your fragrance oils phthalate-free and paraben-free?

Yes. Phoenix Crafted fragrance oils are phthalate-free and paraben-free. Product pages remain the best place to confirm the current fragrance, materials, format, and care details for a particular item.

What is the difference between a cotton wick and a wooden wick?

Cotton wicks generally provide a quieter, traditional flame. Wooden wicks can offer a wider visual flame and subtle crackle. Neither wick is inherently cleaner, safer, longer-lasting, or stronger. Each product has its own care instructions; trim and maintain the selected wick as directed.

Compare wood and cotton wicks →
Will a coconut-soy and beeswax blend prevent tunneling or guarantee strong scent throw?

No wax blend can guarantee identical performance in every room or burn. Let the first melt pool develop toward the vessel edges without exceeding the product’s burn-time guidance, trim the wick as directed, and keep the candle away from drafts. Perceived fragrance strength can vary with the scent profile, selected size, room dimensions, airflow, ceiling height, furnishings, and burn conditions.

Choosing a Fragrance

How do I choose a scent online?

Start with fragrance families and notes you already enjoy, then consider room, season, mood, sweetness, freshness, warmth, and desired strength. Product pages include notes and fragrance-profile information for comparison.

Take the Find Your Scent quiz →
What is a fragrance family?

A fragrance family groups scents by dominant character, such as floral, woody, amber, fresh and aquatic, citrus, fruity, green and herbal, gourmand, or smoky and earthy. Many fragrances cross more than one family.

Explore the Fragrance Wheel Guide →
What is cold throw versus hot throw?

Cold throw is the fragrance noticed from an unlit candle. Hot throw is the fragrance released while the candle burns and the wax is warm. Wax-melt performance is influenced by warmer temperature and exposed melt-pool area.

Read the Complete Fragrance Guide →
Which scents work best in different rooms?

Fresh, citrus, green, and herbal profiles often suit kitchens and workspaces. Soft florals, woods, amber, and musk-style profiles can work well in bedrooms. Living rooms can support a wider range. Personal preference, room size, and airflow matter.

Completed by hand

Diamond Paintings & Framing

Are Phoenix Crafted diamond paintings DIY kits?

No. Artwork in the completed-art collection is hand-finished, not a DIY kit. Each listing identifies dimensions, orientation, subject, frame status, and availability.

Shop completed diamond paintings →
Will I receive the exact artwork shown?

Most listings represent one individually completed work. Some offer more than one hand-completed version and note that slight variation can occur. The product listing is the controlling source.

Review artwork details →
Is a frame included?

It depends on the artwork. Some pieces arrive framed and ready to display, while others are sold unframed. The listing states the frame status and dimensions.

Can I request a custom handcrafted frame?

Yes. Include the artwork dimensions, preferred wood or finish, display orientation, and deadline when submitting a custom solid-wood framing request.

Start a custom frame request →
How should I care for completed diamond artwork?

Display it indoors away from moisture, prolonged sunlight, excessive heat, and high humidity. Dust gently with a dry microfiber cloth or soft brush. Do not apply liquid cleaner directly to the resin surface.
