This glossary defines the ingredients and wick materials used across Phoenix Crafted candle formulations. A material’s purpose does not, by itself, prove a health or emissions outcome.

Coconut wax

Purpose: Carries fragrance and contributes a creamy finish and slower burn character. Sourcing: Produced from processed coconut oil supplied for candle making. Does not guarantee: A soot-free, non-toxic, chemical-free or allergen-free candle.

Soy wax

Purpose: Adds body, structure and a relatively slow burn. Sourcing: Produced by hydrogenating soybean oil. Does not guarantee: Freedom from frosting, wet spots, soot or fragrance sensitivity.

Beeswax

Purpose: Adds hardness, stability and natural warmth to the blend. Sourcing: Bee-derived wax that is filtered for candle use. Does not guarantee: Air purification, zero emissions or vegan status; beeswax is an animal product.

Fragrance oil

Purpose: Creates the candle’s scent profile and hot and cold throw. Sourcing: Supplier-formulated oils selected with phthalate-free and paraben-free documentation and IFRA conformity information. Does not guarantee: Suitability for every person, pet or respiratory condition, or disclosure of a supplier’s proprietary formula.

Cotton wick

Purpose: Delivers melted wax to a quiet, steady flame. Sourcing: Lead-free cotton wick sized to the vessel and formulation. Does not guarantee: A clean burn if untrimmed, exposed to drafts or mismatched to the candle.

Wood wick

Purpose: Produces a wider flame and subtle crackle. Sourcing: Untreated natural wood without coatings or ignition accelerants. Does not guarantee: Easier ignition, less soot or safer use than cotton; correct trimming remains essential.
