Candle Details
Each Phoenix Crafted candle is hand-poured in small batches in North Carolina. Because every candle is made by hand, slight variations in wax appearance, color, decorative placement, and finish are natural.
Our Wax Blend
Our standard candles are crafted with a premium blend of:
- Coconut soy wax
- Beeswax
- Carefully selected candle-safe fragrance oils
This blend was selected to create a smooth appearance, an inviting fragrance experience, and a clean, even burn when properly maintained.
Please note: Because our blend contains beeswax, these candles are not considered vegan.
Wick Options
Cotton Wick
A traditional candle experience with a steady flame and quiet burn.
Wooden Wick
A modern wick option that may produce a gentle crackling sound while burning. Wooden wicks require a shorter trim than cotton wicks and may occasionally need to be relit during the first burn.
Wick availability may vary by vessel, fragrance, and candle size.
Vessels and Sizes
Phoenix Crafted offers several vessel styles and sizes. Available options are shown directly on each product page and may include:
- Noir vessels
- Noir Grande vessels
- Aura vessels
- Decorative and specialty vessels
The selected vessel may affect wick configuration, burn time, decorative options, and final appearance.
Fragrance Strength
Fragrance strength can vary based on the scent, room size, airflow, vessel, and wick selection. Product descriptions indicate the intended fragrance profile and approximate scent strength whenever available.
For the strongest and most even fragrance experience, allow the wax to melt close to the edges of the vessel during each burn.
14-Day Scent Swap Guarantee
Eligible candles may be burned once to evaluate the fragrance. If the scent is not the right fit, contact Phoenix Crafted within 14 days of delivery to request one scent swap for the item. The vessel, wax, and label must remain in good condition. Exclusions and return-shipping terms apply.

Handmade Variations
Minor differences are part of the handmade process and do not affect the quality or performance of your candle. These may include:
- Slight wax discoloration
- Small surface imperfections
- Minor frosting or crystallization
- Variation in decorative embeds
- Slight movement of the wick after cooling

Candle Care & First Burn
Proper candle care helps your candle burn more evenly, last longer, and perform as intended.
Before Every Burn
Cotton Wicks
Trim the wick to approximately 1/4 inch before lighting.
Wooden Wicks
Trim the wick to approximately 1/8 inch before lighting. Remove loose or charred wood from the top of the wick before relighting.
Always allow the candle to cool completely before trimming the wick.
The First Burn
The first burn helps establish how the candle will perform during future use.
- Place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
- Keep it away from drafts, fans, open windows, children, and pets.
- Allow the wax to melt close to the edges of the vessel.
- Do not burn the candle for more than four hours at a time.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Extinguishing the candle too soon may cause tunneling, leaving unused wax around the sides of the vessel.
During Each Burn
- Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches, and debris.
- Do not move the candle while the wax is melted.
- Keep the candle away from flammable materials.
- Discontinue use if the flame becomes unusually high or begins producing excessive smoke.
- Extinguish the candle, allow it to cool, trim the wick, and relight if necessary.
How to Extinguish Your Candle
Use a candle snuffer when possible. Avoid using water, which can cause hot wax to splatter or damage the vessel.
Allow the candle to cool completely before replacing the lid or moving it.
When to Stop Burning
Discontinue use when approximately 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel. Burning beyond this point can cause the container to overheat.
Wooden Wick Troubleshooting
The wick will not stay lit
The wick may be too long or have too much charred wood at the top. Extinguish the candle, allow it to cool, and trim the wick slightly shorter before relighting.
The flame is very small
Carefully remove loose ash or charred wood from the wick after the candle has completely cooled. Do not remove too much of the unburned wood.
The candle is tunneling
On the next burn, allow the wax to melt closer to the edge of the vessel. Avoid short burn sessions whenever possible.
Important Safety Reminders
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep away from children and pets.
- Do not burn near drafts or flammable objects.
- Keep multiple burning candles several inches apart.
- Do not touch or move a hot vessel.
- Do not use a vessel that is cracked, chipped, or damaged.
Shipping, Returns & Scent Swap
This policy applies to Phoenix Crafted candles, wax melts, tealights and other scented wax products.
Order Processing
Our scented products are hand-poured or prepared in small batches. Processing time may vary depending on product availability, customization and seasonal order volume.
You will receive an order confirmation after checkout and a separate shipping confirmation with tracking information once your package has been transferred to the carrier.
Shipping
Available shipping methods and estimated delivery times are displayed at checkout.
Delivery estimates begin after processing is complete. Carrier delays, severe weather, holidays and other circumstances outside our control may affect delivery time.
Free Shipping
Complimentary standard U.S. shipping is available on qualifying orders of $50 or more after discounts and before taxes.
Warm-Weather Shipping
Wax products may soften or partially melt when exposed to high temperatures during transit.
During warmer months, we may adjust shipping schedules or packaging to reduce heat exposure. Once delivered, bring the package indoors promptly.
If a candle, wax melt or tealight arrives softened, place it upright in a cool room and allow it to return to room temperature before opening or using it. Minor surface changes caused by heat generally do not affect fragrance performance.
Address Changes
Please review your shipping address carefully before placing an order.
If an address needs to be corrected, email Phoenix@Phoenix-Crafted.com as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee that changes can be made after an order enters processing or ships.
Damaged, Melted or Incorrect Orders
Contact us within 48 hours of delivery if your order arrives damaged, severely melted or incorrect.
Please include:
- Your order number
- A description of the issue
- Photographs of the affected product
- Photographs of the shipping box and interior packaging
- A photograph of the shipping label when requested
Keep the product and all packaging until the claim has been reviewed.
14-Day Scent Swap Guarantee
Fragrance is personal. Eligible candles, wax melts and tealights may qualify for a scent exchange when the fragrance is not the right fit.
Contact us within 14 days of confirmed delivery and wait for approval before returning any product.
Candle eligibility
- The candle must have been burned no more than once.
- The vessel, wax and label must remain in good condition.
- The candle may not be heavily used, altered, damaged or contaminated.
Wax melt eligibility
- No more than one wax cube, piece or portion may have been used.
- The remaining wax must be returned in its original packaging.
- The wax may not be mixed with another fragrance or contaminated with warmer residue.
Tealight eligibility
- No more than one tealight from the package may have been burned.
- The remaining tealights must be unused and returned in their original packaging.
How to request a scent swap
- Email Phoenix@Phoenix-Crafted.com within 14 days of delivery.
- Include your order number and the fragrance you would prefer.
- Wait for approval and return instructions.
- Package the product securely and return it using a trackable shipping method.
Scent swap conditions
- The original purchase must have been made directly through Phoenix Crafted.
- The exchange applies to fragrance, not necessarily product size, vessel or format.
- A price adjustment may apply when changing product size, vessel or format.
- Customers are responsible for return shipping unless the original order was damaged or incorrect.
- Original shipping charges are not refundable.
- Only one scent swap may be approved per eligible item.
Products That Do Not Qualify for a Scent Swap
- Custom or personalized candles
- Made-to-order fragrance blends
- Heavily used candles, wax melts or tealights
- Clearance or final-sale products
- Products damaged after delivery
- Products purchased from another retailer
Returns for Reasons Other Than Fragrance
Unused and unopened standard products may be considered for return when requested within 14 days of delivery.
Approved products must be returned in unused, resalable condition with original packaging. Customers are responsible for return shipping unless the product arrived damaged or incorrect.
Refunds
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method after the returned product has been received and inspected.
Original shipping charges are not refundable unless the order was damaged, defective or incorrect. Bank and payment-provider processing times may vary.
Order Cancellations
Contact us immediately if you need to cancel an order. Orders that have entered production, been customized or shipped may not be eligible for cancellation.

The Noir Grande offers additional wax and a longer burn than the standard Noir. It is an excellent choice for medium-sized rooms and for customers who burn their favorite fragrance regularly.

Living room or dining room
