Accessory Care & Instructions

Proper care helps keep your Phoenix Crafted accessories clean, functional and safe to use.

These are general instructions for our accessory collection. Always follow the product-specific directions and manufacturer instructions included with your item.


Before First Use

  • Remove all packaging and protective materials.
  • Inspect the accessory for cracks, chips, loose parts or shipping damage.
  • Confirm that all listed components are included.
  • Read all product and manufacturer instructions.
  • Place the item on a stable surface before using it.

Do not use an accessory that appears damaged, incomplete or unsafe.


Wax Warmer Instructions

Before use

  • Place the warmer on a flat, stable and heat-resistant surface.
  • Keep it away from children, pets, water and flammable materials.
  • Confirm that the warming dish is clean and dry.
  • Do not exceed the wax capacity stated by the manufacturer.

Adding wax

  • Begin with one small cube or piece of wax.
  • Add more only after the first portion has melted.
  • Never add water, fragrance oil or another liquid to the warming dish.
  • Do not place wax directly on an exposed electrical component.

During use

  • Do not leave an operating warmer unattended.
  • Do not move the warmer while the wax is hot or liquid.
  • Keep the cord away from walkways and heated surfaces.
  • Do not touch the warmer dish or heating area while hot.

After use

  • Turn off and unplug electric warmers.
  • Extinguish the tealight in approved tealight warmers.
  • Allow the warmer and wax to cool completely before handling.

Cleaning a Wax Warmer

Cold removal method

  1. Turn off and unplug the warmer.
  2. Allow the wax to cool and harden completely.
  3. Gently lift the wax from the dish.
  4. Wipe away remaining residue with a soft paper towel or cloth.

Warm removal method

  1. Warm the wax only until the bottom begins to loosen.
  2. Turn off and unplug the warmer.
  3. Carefully remove the loosened wax.
  4. Wipe the dish clean after it has cooled enough to handle safely.

Never pour melted wax into a sink, toilet or household drain.

Do not submerge an electrical warmer in water.


Wick Trimmer Care

Use wick trimmers only after the candle and wick have cooled completely.

  1. Open the trimmer and position the blades near the top of the wick.
  2. Trim cotton wicks to approximately 1/4 inch.
  3. Trim wooden wicks to approximately 1/8 inch.
  4. Remove the trimmed wick material from the candle.

After use, wipe the trimmer with a soft, dry cloth.

For stubborn soot, use a slightly damp cloth and dry the tool immediately. Do not soak metal tools or leave them wet.


Candle Snuffer Instructions

  1. Position the snuffer bell over the candle flame.
  2. Lower it carefully until the flame is fully covered.
  3. Hold it in place until the flame is extinguished.
  4. Lift the snuffer away carefully.

Allow the snuffer to cool before cleaning or storing it.

Do not press the snuffer into melted wax.


Wick Dipper Instructions

  1. Use the hooked end to gently bend the lit wick into the melted wax.
  2. Once the flame is extinguished, immediately lift and straighten the wick.
  3. Center the wick before the wax begins to harden.

Use caution when working near melted wax and flame.

Do not leave the wick submerged in wax.


Lighter Instructions and Care

Follow all instructions supplied with the specific lighter.

General use

  • Keep your face, hair and clothing away from the ignition area.
  • Point the lighter away from people and pets.
  • Do not ignite near spilled fuel or other flammable substances.
  • Allow the lighter to cool after extended use.
  • Engage any safety lock after use.

Rechargeable lighters

  • Use only the recommended charging cable and power source.
  • Do not use the lighter while it is charging.
  • Do not expose it to water or extreme heat.
  • Unplug it after charging is complete.

Refillable lighters

  • Use only the fuel type specified by the manufacturer.
  • Refill in a ventilated area away from flame or sparks.
  • Allow any spilled fuel to evaporate fully before ignition.

Store all lighters securely away from children.


Trays and Decorative Holders

  • Place trays and holders on a level surface.
  • Do not overload them.
  • Wipe spills promptly.
  • Do not place hot vessels on surfaces not rated for heat.
  • Keep painted and wooden surfaces away from standing water.

A decorative tray does not replace a properly rated heat-resistant surface unless the product description explicitly states otherwise.


Wood Accessory Care

  • Dust with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Wipe small spills promptly.
  • Do not soak or submerge wood products.
  • Keep away from prolonged moisture and direct heat.
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners and harsh chemicals.
  • Do not place unfinished wood in a dishwasher.

Natural wood may change slightly in color over time.


Metal Accessory Care

  • Wipe with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth.
  • Dry immediately after cleaning.
  • Avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemical cleaners.
  • Remove wax or soot gently.
  • Store in a dry area to reduce tarnishing or corrosion.

Ceramic and Glass Accessory Care

  • Handle carefully to prevent chips or cracks.
  • Allow heated items to cool before cleaning.
  • Avoid sudden temperature changes.
  • Do not use cracked or damaged pieces.
  • Hand wash unless the product is specifically marked dishwasher safe.

Do not place hot ceramic or glass directly into cold water.


Storage

  • Store accessories in a clean, dry location.
  • Keep tools away from children and pets.
  • Do not wrap electrical cords tightly around warmers.
  • Keep lighters away from heat and direct sunlight.
  • Store removable warmer dishes separately when needed to prevent breakage.

When to Discontinue Use

Stop using an accessory if you notice:

  • Cracks, chips or broken components
  • Loose electrical connections
  • Exposed or frayed wiring
  • Unusual overheating
  • Sparks, smoke or a burning odor
  • A damaged plug or power cord
  • A lighter that leaks or ignites unexpectedly
  • Instability that could cause tipping

Do not attempt to repair electrical accessories unless the manufacturer specifically provides safe repair instructions.

  • Read all instructions before use.
  • Never leave heated or electrical accessories unattended.
  • Keep accessories away from children and pets.
  • Keep electrical products away from water.
  • Do not use damaged products.
  • Do not modify the accessory or its electrical components.
